When was the last time you recognized yourself for a job well done for accomplishing the small tasks you do every day? A recent conversation with one of my colleagues in my Psychological Safety Practice Team left me thinking deeply about recognition. While we all have significant goals we aim to accomplish every quarter, how much time do we take to recognize the smaller accomplishments and contributions we make every day that matter, both to ourselves and each other, personally and/or professionally? And could recognition of the small wins increase Psychological Safety? My colleague and I both agree it does. When you take the interpersonal risk to share your accomplishments with others, no matter how large or small, what can emerge is a deeper understanding for why what you do matters, along with a deep appreciation by others for the meaningful work you do every day.
While some may worry that this could appear boastful or prideful, there is nothing wrong at all sharing the small everyday wins. In fact, there is so much to gain by doing so! Every moment we can celebrate our achievements with each other is a GREAT opportunity to create and increase energy, synergy, and even further the exploration of ideas for increased innovation! Just another reason why we are “Better Together”.
The enclosed article “The Productivity Box: Why Celebrating Small Wins Can Power Your Work Performance” by Elena Carstoiu, discusses why celebrating the small wins is a powerful motivator, how being mindfully connected to small wins and “flashes of joy” can lead to higher levels of happiness, elevate work performance, and finally, tips to amplify your small wins that occur every day! https://blog.4psa.com/the-productivity-box-why-celebrating-small-wins-can-power-your-work-performance/
