Getting To Know Us – Nate Termaat

1. Tell us about you. Where did you go to school? What’s your most recent professional experience?

I am married with 3 teenage children….yikes. I have been with E&I since May of 2006 and have held 5 positions. All the positions have been in direct member engagement.

2. Tell us about your role here at E&I. Give us a quick rundown of your responsibilities and how they play a part in our team’s overall success.

I am the Business Development Executive for Construction, Facilities & Energy. I spend my time calling on member contacts outside of procurement and primarily in the facilities operations, capital planning & EHS/Risk Management departments at our Higher Ed members. I am also considered the SME for the category at E&I.

3. What do you enjoy most about your work? Are there specific tasks or projects that you find particularly fulfilling or exciting?

I love working with our members and business partners to find solutions to problems our member are experiencing, meeting new people and learning about current trends and future issues for our members.

4. What aspect of our company culture resonates with you the most? Are there particular values or practices that you find especially meaningful and enjoy being a part of?

Its the willingness of everyone to help.

5. What are your hobbies or interests outside of work? Tell us about your passions and how you unwind and recharge when you’re not on the clock.

Outside of E&I i am consumed by Lacrosse. All 3 play for the school district and club travel. In the fall my weekends are spent hunting.

6. What are you reading, binge watching, or listening to? Anything in particular that’s captured your attention or sparked your interest recently?

I love 80’s music (my youth) and country music. I enjoy watching On Patrol Live on the weekends and almost anything on Discovery Channel and A&E.

7. Share a fun fact about yourself. Is there something about you that your colleagues might find surprising or interesting?

I am terrified of mice…..hahahaha.

8. What’s one thing you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?

Oh geez….I’m not sure.

9. What do you want to get 1% better at each day?

I am taking certificate classes on Coursera on topics that impact my ability to serve our members and business partners
