1. Tell us about you. Where did you go to school? What’s your most recent professional experience?
I went to Dowling College which sadly no longer exists. It was called the personal college because it wasn’t very big and you got to know everyone. My most recent professional experience was as a HR Manager for a nursing home of retired nuns. It was a very interesting job where I was able to interact with the nuns who lived there and hear stories about their lives and all they have accomplished.
2. Tell us about your role here at E&I. Give us a quick rundown of your responsibilities and how they play a part in our team’s overall success.
My role at E&I is to provide a high level of support and service to our employees and vendors. This includes managing our company benefit plans, 3rd party affiliates, and the integrity of the company’s HRIS system. I support and assist in the implementation of various programs designed to meet the needs of our employees. I also assist in achieving our department’s responsibilities and initiatives that strategically support the overall goals of the organization.
3. What do you enjoy most about your work? Are there specific tasks or projects that you find particularly fulfilling or exciting?
I enjoy interacting with our employees and vendors. I feel a high degree of satisfaction when I am able to solve a problem or provide an answer to an employee’s question involving their benefits or anything else pertaining to our People Department. I enjoy being a part of the new hire process ensuring that our new hires get off to a good start by providing them with information and resources to succeed in their role at E&I. I also like reminding our current employees of the many resources available to them through our benefit programs and our ADP portal.
4. What aspect of our company culture resonates with you the most? Are there particular values or practices that you find especially meaningful and enjoy being a part of?
I love working with an organization that celebrates everyone’s unique self and participates in helping you grow both personally and professionally, where you feel safe to learn from your mistakes, and have the ability for a “Do Over”. I feel that there is a lot of communication and collaboration to ensure everyone is abreast of the company’s performance and progress toward company rocks.
5. What are your hobbies or interests outside of work? Tell us about your passions and how you unwind and recharge when you’re not on the clock.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to travel, especially to other countries where I can learn the history of that country and explore its culture. Other things I enjoy doing are hiking, reading, taking photos, exploring new restaurants, going to the movies, gardening, and interior decorating.
6. What are you reading, binge watching, or listening to? Anything in particular that’s captured your attention or sparked your interest recently?
I am currently watching the “True Detective” series. It is an anthology series. Each story is very interesting and captures your attention. I am on my third story. The “Night Country” story takes place in Alaska and stars Jodie Foster who gives a great performance along with her partner. It is a riveting story with two female characters as the lead characters in the story.
7. Share a fun fact about yourself. Is there something about you that your colleagues might find surprising or interesting?
A fun fact about myself is that my last name is Viola and my twin daughter both play the viola instrument. Also, when I got married, the church was struck by lighting but I think that was good luck because we are now married for 22 years.
8. What’s one thing you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?
I would like to go to a different country that I have not been to and learn more about their history and culture.
9. What do you want to get 1% better at each day?
I want to get better at slowing down and taking my time in accomplishing tasks.

Great article Zoe! I enjoyed reading it.
Thanks for sharing, Zoe! I love the photo too! 😁 How many countries have you traveled to? Any favorites? Would also appreciate any interior decorating tips!
Thank you, Lori Beth. We’ve been to Italy, England, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Amsterdam. They were all beautiful and unique places. I especially liked Venice because you can only travel by Gondola. I was able to purchase a handblown vase that was made in Murano.
Lightening…wow! Must be good luck! Love the pic of you and Paris. My mom and I went together for her 70th birthday and have wonderful memories there! Hope to get back there soon.
