Michael Jaycox will be joining the E&I team on June 24, 2024 as a Sales Auditor for the Finance Department. Michael will report to John Orland, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and will work a hybrid schedule from the Jericho office and his home on Long Island. As Sales Auditor, Michael will be responsible for examining and analyzing sales data to verify its compliance with contractual agreements, identifying discrepancies, errors, trends, and mitigate risks associated with revenue leakage. Michael will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of member purchases and related contract administration fees (revenue) reported to E&I by its business partners. The accuracy of this data is crucial to ensure E&I is receiving all earned revenue and is properly recording its members’ activities for rebate and patronage payment calculations.
Michael joins our organization with over 9 years’ experience in Accounting. As Sr. Accountant at Healthplex, he executed the accounting and finance responsibilities outlined in the service agreement for a non-profit client. He reported client’s annual and quarterly regulatory filing to the NAIC & NYSDFS. In addition, Michael arranged and presented documentation on the financial health of the client at the client’s Board of Directors meetings. He also managed client’s audits administered by NYSDFS and external auditors. Prior to being promoted to Sr. Accountant, Michael was a Staff Accountant and Accounting Assistant at Healthplex where he prepared month-end balance sheet reconciliation and communicated variances and concerns to management. He also developed monthly financial statements, profit and loss statements and annual budgets providing management with ad-hoc reporting packages and commentary in addition to handling daily banking, cash receipts, and accounts payable activity.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys watching sports as he is a huge Mets/Islanders/Knicks fan. He likes playing video games and he also enjoys spending time outdoors as he loves nature.
