From Research to Relationships: Jess’s Copilot-Powered Outreach Strategy

by Doug Cox

Hi everyone,

In another post this week, we spotlighted how Jess Biron used Microsoft’s Researcher agent to transform her IT strategic planning process, turning a 22-hour task into a 20-minute win. But Jess didn’t stop there.

She took those insights and turned them into action.

Using Copilot, Jess crafted a personalized outreach strategy that helped her connect with stakeholders, in this example at Boston University. With just a few well-structured prompts, she was able to generate tailored emails that reflected each recipient’s role, priorities, and institutional goals.

The result? One of her messages was forwarded to the right person on campus, who then reached out to schedule a meeting. That conversation opened the door for deeper collaboration and positioned Jess in the eyes of the member not as a vendor, but as a strategic partner.

This isn’t just about saving time (though she did save about 5 hours on this outreach cycle). It’s about building trust, meeting stakeholders where they are, and showing up with solutions that matter.

Want to see how she structured her prompt—and how you might adapt it for your own outreach?

Let’s keep learning, experimenting, and sharing.

Best,
Doug
